Empire Grappling – Yorkshire Open | 4th May 2025 – Results Recap

Gamefight Wakefield  at Guts over fear was out in force at the Empire Grappling Yorkshire Open on Sunday 4th May 2025. With a mix of experienced competitors and first-time entrants, our team took on tough brackets across both Gi and No-Gi divisions, coming away with a proud medal haul and valuable experience for all.

Massive respect to everyone who stepped onto the mats. Whether it was your first competition or another step on the journey, you represented Gamefight Wakefield with heart, grit, and unity. Onwards and upwards!

Adult Results:

  • Jenna – 🥇 Gold (Gi) – A great first outing on the competition mats, showing confidence and composure.

  • Marius – 🥈 Silver (Gi) – Displayed excellent control and pressure throughout the day.

  • Igor – 🥉 Bronze (Gi) | 4th Place (No-Gi) – A busy and competitive showing in both formats.

  • Kieran – 🥉 Bronze (Gi) – Sharp technique and calm execution under pressure.

  • Andy – 🥉 Bronze (Gi) – Fought hard and earned a well-deserved podium spot.

  • Daz – 4th Place (Gi) – Narrowly missed out on a medal in a tough division.
